This year in eighth grade I started my blog. My teacher, Mrs.Barrett, taught us about how to grow as a writer and how we can always become better. I have no doubt that through all the writing we have done this year, which has mostly been on my blog, that I've grown. You may be able to tell the difference from my writing on this very post compared to my very first post. You can always grow no matter how great you are a writing and that's a key point in becoming a truly great writer.
I've decided to take this back to the very beginning to my first paper I wrote this year! The first paper I wrote this year, in language arts, was "Time for New Friends." This paper was a narrative that we did one or the first weeks of school. There is no doubt that I've defiantly grown from then. I loath having to look back at my writing in that paper. It was very underdeveloped at the time and the biggest improvement that I can see is my grammar. I used the word "wanna" instead of "want to" because I was horrible when it came to grammar at the start of this year. Yet I have grown and learned and now I am a better writer because of that. This is just one of the numerous ways that I have grown this year. Now I’d like to talk about my midway through the year progress. Our class wrote a paper half way through the year and it was “Letter to Trump.” This paper was just after our current president got elected. This was a more business like and mature writing style. It was exceedingly different from my beginning of the year paper. My vocabulary had grown increasingly and my grammar had just gradually grown at this point. I can see a substantial amount of growth from where I had started this year to this point. Although I had seen growth I still knew that there was plenty of room left to grow. I know that not matter how good I had got or how good I will become I will always find some way to grow as a writer. Lastly I would like to review my latest writing “Mandela Effect.” I can see the most growth from the start to now. I have seen the most growth in my writing tone. Near the beginning of the year my writing tone was a “cookie cutter” type of writing, but now I believe that I have developed my own definable writing tone when I write. Another monumental growth that I have seen is my grammar and my sentence types. I use a variety of sentence types now and not just declarative but imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentence. The change in my writing from the my first paper to my writing now almost seems like it was two different people writing. It's obvious that I have grown when you look and compare my writing. My grammar has grown increasingly much like my vocabulary has this year. I know that at the start of this year my writing was polar opposite to my writing now at the end. I have primarily grown with my time of writing and my grammar this year. I have also challenged myself to use stronger vocabulary and spread it out through my writing. The goals that I made at the start of this year, for my writing, were to grown as a writer and become a good writer. I believe that this year I have become and better writer although I still know that I still have plenty of room to grow. I believe that if you were to go back and read my first paper “Time for New Friends” and my most recent paper “Mandela Effect” then you would see first hand how I have grown. Throughout the year my writing has grown and I know that next year I will still grown. Coming into this year I wasn't an amazing writer but ending this year I believe I'm a wonderful writer. I have worked hard this year to become the great writer I am and can't wait to grow even more in the years to come. The one thing that I believe all good writers must know is that you will always have room to grow.

Hey guys we had to make a presentation over a research paper that I had to do for class so please go check it out!!
This weeks post has been about a research paper we did for class how you enjoy
Have you ever remembered something that never really happened? Had a false memory of an event that never occurred? What about that time you were younger and you were certain that you won that basketball game but really you lost. This is just one of the many wonderful examples of the mandela effect. The reasons we have memories of times that never happened is because of an alternate universe conflicting with our current one. The mandela effect, having a clear memory of a time that never happened. This many not just happen to you but perhaps a group of people who remember the same false memory yet it never happened. This can happen to anyone age young or old. This process can happen over night it doesn’t take long for a false memory to develop. Although we all have these false memories many doctors see this effect on mental illness patients. Some of the many examples of the mandela effect are the popular childhood book ‘The Berensetin Bears’ is really ‘The Berenstain Bears.’ Or that many believe that in the 1990’s there was a movie, “Shazaam”, starring Sinbad about a genie. The real movie was “Kazaam” and stared Shaquille O’neal. Could the explanation for this be as simple as an alternate universe? I believe so, if you stop to think about what would have happened if you would’ve chose yes instead of no. Or if you would have decided to be a doctor instead of a teacher. That may there’s another “you” out there living your other options. Many scientist believe this could be a glitch in the matrix. Other timelines that somehow are overlapping with the current one we live thus causing us to remember things that never happened. Although it is a complicated theory many believe in an alternate universe. Many believe that the transition between the 1900’s to 2000’s somehow caused a time rift. Thus splitting our generations into an alternate reality. Yet an alternate universe is a very acceptable theory just as many believe time travel could be the answer. I believe the theory that time travel may cause the mandela effect because groups of people can remember these false memories. In the future an older them may come in counter with the opportunity to time travel then if they do this causes them to have the false memories. I also believe these two theories go better together. Scientist say time travel is a possible answer to the causing of the mandela effect. In the future science will advance and many believe time travel will be figured out. Many believe that alternate universes and time travel work together to explain the mandela effect. The reason we have memories of time that never happened is because of a parallel or alternate universe conflicting with our current one. I believe that the mandela effect is caused by alternate universe. I truly believe the theory that our current timeline can conflict with others to cause false memories. There isn’t another reasonable theory to explain this effect. Who really influences us? Our parents, teachers, and maybe even peers but who influences them. Our media, doesn't that help to influence our whole society. Aren't they the biggest contributors to our mind sets? They show us all aspects of what is going on in the world around yet how do we know what to believe and what to discard?
The media can rule our live as much as we let it. If we give to much attention to it then we can let it over power us. We can let it have to much power and control over us and can cause us to change our appearance and outlook on important topics. How do we know when to trust the media and when to discard what they say. Honestly you have to take in account that there will always be at least two opposing sides of the news. Like there are people who are liberal and those who are conservative. Liberal and conservative are about as opposing as it gets, they both have polar opposite believes. Liberals are more open minded to today society and action and conservative is more moral based and sticks to traditional values. I personally believe with a conservative mind set rather than liberal. I'm not very open and acceptance to the decisions that our society has chosen to accept and say is right. Although the world seems to have a liberal belief and is so very accepting to many of the bad habits of today's society there is no doubt that there's an opposing side that is sticking to their morals and doesn't agree with the worlds decisions If there are two sides to an argument how do you know who to trust? Or who you should believe? It's your chose you have to go with whatever you believe is acceptable. Now this doesn't mean you should just neglect the other sides argument. Give them a fair chance and read their side, learn their side and know your opponents side so you can be able to understand why you don't believe them. This has been a harder topic to write about. I hope that you have enjoyed this post and that you can take something out of it. Try to stick to your beliefs and don't let the world ruin your outlook on life. Please stay true to yourself and your ideas. Although it seems like I was just in sixth grade a year ago next year I'll be a freshmen. Going into highschool will be a new experience for us all and a frighting yet memorial one. I can't wait to be in highschool but it feels like middle school has flown by so quickly.
Sixth grade seemed like such a substantial jump from Elementary school so many changes and differences. It seems like just a month ago we were walking into a new school ready for a start with teaches who didn't know us. A new maturer environment that we would soon learn the struggles of. Sixth grade seemed like a breeze, because teachers weren't as hard and classes weren't as tough as they were going to be in the foreseeable future. Seventh grade was when school had gotten tougher. We realized middle school wasn't all fun and games like it felt like in sixth grade. The classes where challenging and the teachers became stricter. We had gone straight into a new level of maturity. Seventh grade wasn't unbearable we just became aware that we needed to take school serious and that we need to get some priorities straight. Not long after eighth grade came. Eighth grade. That's were I am now. So close to the end about to take a bigger step. This year has gone through like the blink of an eye. It really seems like yesterday we just started this year and now we are about to end it. We, as you'd expect if you knew our eighth grade class, are going to go out with a huge ending. Then we all go to highschool, an even bigger place with even more people. The big jump that who knows if we're ready for. I hope and pray we are but this is a huge jump. Are we seriously ready? Middle school has been a great experience. You see so many things that honestly I couldn't have imaged happen. So many great memorize that are breathtaking. Wonderful times and I hope highschool brings that. I think we can do this, I just hope we are ready. The world we live in today is a world fulled with diversity. With people from all nationality's and different walks of life. In this big world you're bound to meet other people all with different races and religions. It's the world we live in now and some of us need to learn how to adapt to this worlds system.
Racism. It's an awful habit that is clear many Americans have. Everywhere you go these days you won't find it hard to experience someone making a racist comment or even action towards another person. When most people think of racism the first thing to usually come to mind is racism between black and white Americans. Although there are many other ways and numerous amounts of people who encounter racism. This is quite an obvious problem in today's society. You can barely go to school without hearing about racism. The horrid thing about this whole thing is the only reasons most kids act this way towards other nationality is because of parents. When children hear conversations at home about racism this makes them form a similar opinion. This can go to totally different way either good or bad. If parents influence there children to be racist or to respect people from all walks of life. Kids are easily influenced. Take it from me I'd know I'm a kid. Are role models for kids today aren't helping in any way. For example our president, you'd be deranged to say he isn't. He has made countless comments that were more than racist. How is this supposed to help kids not be racist? Our own president someone children should be able to look up to doing the exact thing we're teaching them not to do. He isn't the only one. There are many more celebrities to blame for the way children act towards racism. Through out life you will meet new people and they won't all be like you. We need to learn to embrace this. Use it to learn more and grow as a person. Treating other just as if they were yourself. That's the lesson our world needs to learn. As you may know this month is women's month. Yesterday was national women's day. A month that is sit aside to celebrate women and their amazing achievements. We have come very far in this world. At one point we couldn't vote but look at us now.
I personally believe that womens month and day is so very important. It gives us all a chance to look back on the great accomplishments we've had. Some of the many accomplishments we've achieved. It's important to also look back on the numerous women who have made us ladies have such an amazing future. We haven't always had it easy and it never will be. Personally I feel like women are always going to have some sort of difficulty. Whether it not being treated equal or fighting to be treated equal. Women are a very important part of are society. They do so much that go unnoticed by us all. Even us women don't always take time to notice each other accomplishments. Us women are mothers, daughters, doctors, lawyers, scientist, and even politicians. We were once not even equal to men. At one point in time we couldn't vote yet look at were we have come. Not only one women could do this it took multiple amounts of us to change this world for us. We had to stand together and we are going to have to keep that up. Even though it was a day sit aside for women I feel we didn't all use it to are advantage. I won't talk long about this but some women were protesting. On a day I fee like we should have taken a break from the chaos of the world to focus on us. It is quiet upsetting that we couldn't have taken a day away from it all to just celebrate ourselves. At my schools I have heard so many boys say that having a national womens day is unfair. They mentioned how men don't have a day so women shouldn't either. The thing they didn't think about was that there is a men's day. Sadly they didn't think to look up whether or not there really was a day for men. They were so angered by the fact us women had a day they didn't think to do there research. This personally troubled me because men got so upset that there was a day sit aside for women. Why is that? How come they got so upset is my question. Women deserve a day to bask in the glory of are accomplishments every once in a while. I can only hope women enjoyed there day. Even if we didn't all celebrate it in a peaceful way I can only hope that we keep up are good works. I challenge you women to try and make a difference some how and some way. I would like to thank my 6th grade blog buddy Georgia Darden for always reading my post. Thank you lots! I usually post about very debatable topics but this week I've made the choice to do something a little different. I have gone through a lot this week someone I considered a friend. I thought we were good friends but she had said some very hateful things about me. I hope that I could possible if you maybe going through anything.
This wasn't the first time something like this has happened. This time it was different for me because I was very close to this person. I want to heed you to please pick your friends wisely. The right friends can either make you or break you. It is really important to know who you're friends with. Some friends just come and go, they may not always stay around but true ones will. Just please make sure you select the right friends for you. Another point that I'd like to make is don't say things about people. No matter if you're mad at them or they are friends/dating someone you like there's no need to do that. It hurts people more than you'd think. It can emotional destroy girls our age. Especially when it's a close friends saying those things. Making rumors up about someone for self gain is just putrid, personally. Even if what you might be saying you think it will make you better or get you what you want just think at what cost? What are you costing someone else? Pain? I'd like to end with saying that I hope you won't have to experience this. It causes a lot of stress and suffering when something like this happens. I just want you to know that the best thing to do in this situation is to seek help. Get advice from friends and family, and don't just rush to anger or ranting to them. Stay strong in this type of problem and make wise decisions. I'd hope this will once be helpful to you. Choose friends wisely and make smart decisions. Try to stay calm with these types of situations. I will hope and pray you never have to go through this type of problem. This topic controversial and my opinion is just as controversial. It's abortion, and I am very firm on my opinion. There is no confusion to me that it is just absolutely horrid. I have had s personal experience with this and I find it absurd that anyone could think that this is in anyway right. I have had personal experience with this and I feel like that is why I feel so strongly against abortion.
My step brother has a different mother than I do. When his mother first found out that she was pregnant she wanted an abortion. It practically took my father begging her not to get one.The very thought that my brother might never had been frightens me. He has had a tremendous impact on my life an has help make me into who I am today. We might not always see eye to eye on everything but I can't even fully image him never being there through my childhood. He was a main part in it and I don't believe I'd be the same right now if he hadn't been there through my life. It's a women's choice they say. They should have control over their own bodies. I agree 100% with these statements. Women do deserve control over their bodies and they do have control. Before they're every pregnant they make the choice. They have the control they want they just don't comprehend they have it. That's what they are lacking, the ability to understand that they have the control. They may not realize it when they make the choice but they have the control that they want. I have heard women say before that they want an abortion because they can't support the child. Yet there's an easy solution to there predicament and that's adoption. There are so many loving couples who would be thrilled to have a child. Some women can't have kids. They don't have the capability to have kids so adoption is there only way. That is a much saner solution than having an abortion. I have a strong position on this topic. It's so very serious and I take it that way. If more and more people would looks at it this way then maybe it would change. I for one am horrified by the very thought of this. A topic that has come up here recently is the ban against certain Muslim countries not being able to come into the U.S. These countries are Iraq, Syria, Iran, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, and Somalia. These countries are banned to enter the U.S. for the next 90 days.
For starters I never agree with Trump. I was even taking by surprise when I started to agree with this ban. I am usually against everything Trump says but this open my eyes to see it from a way where he truly wants to help this country. I believe this ban was for the best interest of our country and nor just another selfish move he made. I for one agree completely with his issue to ban them. He isn't banning them forever just until we can get a more extensive background checks. Once I though about it at a different angle and I once disagreed with his issue to ban them. Then my father put it into a way for me to understand it the way he did. He told me that Trump wasn't banning them just because he wants to. He had some reasoning behind the ban. He told me to look at it like this, image you have a handful of M&M's and there are three that are poisoned ones, would you still eat the M&M's? Dad said that this compared to the refugees because not all of them are bad but if there are a few bad ones in the bunch then you aren't going to take them all in. He also told me that once they get a higher quality background checks they can start to come to the U.S. again. After he explained this to me I looked at it totally different. Another reason I agree with this banned is that it will help to keep us all safe. We need to take some precautions to make our country a safe environment for out future generations. Right now I don't feel like our country is the safest. With this ban I believe that the refugees will have a extensive background check. I want this country to be a safer environment not only for me but my children and grandchildren to come. This is one of the few things I will ever agree with Trump on. I really do believe this was for our best interest and was made to better our country. I know this maybe surprising but the feminist agrees with Trump. |
